The feature requires both Apple and Xiaomi devices to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
Xiaomi recently unveiled its new operating system, HyperOS 2.0, which brings a host of new features, including enhanced customization options for the home and lock screens, visual updates, performance improvements, and AI capabilities. In addition, a company executive has revealed a new feature aimed at improving compatibility between Xiaomi smartphones and Apple devices like iPhones, making it easier for users to transfer files between different ecosystems.
HyperConnect Feature in Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun demonstrated the interconnectivity features of HyperOS 2.0, showcasing the HyperConnect functionality. In a brief video, Lei Jun effortlessly transferred a file from the Xiaomi 15 Pro to an iPhone, iPad, and Mac using a one-click solution. Once the file is selected, nearby Apple devices automatically appear in the share menu, and the transfer takes just a few seconds.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced that with HyperOS 2.0, users will be able to share not only files and photos with Apple devices, but also access proprietary Apple file formats like Keynote on the Xiaomi 15 series, without the need for conversion. Additionally, the Xiaomi 15 Pro’s screen was mirrored onto a MacBook to demonstrate the system’s capabilities. For this feature to work, both devices need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. However, it is still unclear whether these features require any initial setup or configuration.
Notably, the availability of Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.0 update is currently limited to China and there is no official information about its global debut.
